A path to victory for Democrats in the 2020 presidential race

(CNN) – An exclusive CNN interview with Democratic candidate and 2020 White House hopeful Dr. Mehmet Oz set up the premise for how Democrats could win back power in the 2020 cycle.

Oz shared his personal story of how his “Camelot” was rocked by 9/11 but went on to become America’s most powerful doctor. He discussed how the country was “taught to think” that doctors were evil and how his work helped the country recover.

As a young man, a smallpox vaccination doctor in New York who lived in an immigrant neighborhood, Oz saw a young girl drop on the sidewalk. He jumped in to help and survived being shot in the head by an errant bullet.

Oz said that led him to believe that doctors were not just great but that they were “very, very, very special people who were able to help, save people’s lives, and it was very, very difficult to have a career in medicine.”

Oz said on the set of “Oz,” the show he hosts, not all of what he does is about saving people’s lives. He said he’s “very good at what I do that is very, very difficult to do.”
